Palette Review – Violet Voss ‘Holy Grail’

Hey guys, so the Violet Voss Holy Grail Eyeshadow palette has been raved about soooo much, and after seeing it and watching countless tutorials on it – I caved. But was it worth the £40?

Here’s a quick pic before we begin..

Violet Voss Holy Grail Eyeshadow Palette

There are 20 shades in the palette, with a mixture of mattes and shimmers, which I like. It’s very warm toned, which personally suits me really well as I have quite dark features. All shadows are extremely pigmented and blend-able (essential) and I feel that they work really well together, plus they will last you all day and night. One thing I like especially is that there isn’t much fall out, which I usually always get with the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

At first I must admit, I was disappointed with this product, as when looking at the pictures everyone had put on Instagram etc. the colours in my palette looked rather dull, and not glittery at all. However, they still worked perfectly fine. One thing I must say is that initially the colour pay off isn’t that great, I feel it takes a couple of uses for the shadows to get to their full potential, which is annoying but hey ho.

As the palette is so large it isn’t very compatible, but I think it would be great for holidays as it has such a range of colours you could use and the mirror is MASSIVE. I love that mirror.

Overall I’d rate this palette a strong 8 out of 10. Losing points on the fact it’s a bit of a catfish and of course there’s no brush that comes with it – which you’d sorta expect if it’s £40. However, I really do love this palette I can tell its gonna last a while and the colour pay off is bang on (eventually lol). Plus how cute are all the names?! ‘Ploof’ is my fave hee.

Thanks so much for reading and if you’ve got this palette let me know what you think of it?!
